In February, we began issuing Open Badges to individuals who earned any of four certifications from ISACA:
Allan Boardman, international president of ISACA and chair of ISACA’s Credentialing and Career Management Board, told us, “Open Badging is an important benefit for ISACA certification holders. It provides digital and verifiable recognition of their significant accomplishments.”
Mr. Boardman has also spoken about how efficient Open Badges are for current & potential employers to validate certification. ISACA shares our vision around supplying individuals with the tools necessary to tell their professional story in a way that can be easily shared and validated.
Since the initial launch of ISACA’s Open Badge initiative, we’ve issued thousands of Open Badges to the organization’s certification holders. For many of the Open Badge recipients, the concept of web-enabled credentials was brand new.
Our support staff has helped individuals understand how to make the best use of their new Open Badges issued through Acclaim by sharing them over:
“I see the Acclaim badges as lending credibility for users because the badges are verified. It would be nice to see universities and colleges use this system for degrees and certificate programs.” - Donald Hester
Donald is absolutely right - the ability to verify an Open Badge quickly and easily is a huge benefit to earners and employers. And they’re not just for professional certifications.
